“Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return.” - Leonardo da Vinci
We all dream of soaring through the skies, experiencing flight and seeing the world from a different perspective. As a club of aviators, we love to share our passion, experience and sport with others. As Kernan Valley Flying Club, we do not offer flying lessons directly - however, our very close friends at Kernan Flying School, located on our Airfield, can offer you everything from an air experience flight, to a fully CAA approved private pilots license course.
To support you when you are training, we membership to the club, letting you join our community of flyers and enjoy the buzz of the airfield while you're undertaking training!
Microlighting is one the most affordable (and fun) ways to fly. However, there are various scholarships, bursaries and grants available to help you learn to fly. We've tried to list just some of these - and as a club, we will always try to help point you in the right direction.
We're a proud member club of the British Microlight Aircraft Association, the governing body for our sport. The BMAA provides various supports including a Young Persons Flying Bursary.
The Light Aircraft Association (The LAA) also provide flying bursaries for various groups.
Scholarships to support females learning to fly are offered by the British Women Pilots Association
